Blog : Week 305 Updates

Dear Rasikas,

We are happy to be back with this week's update.

One of Uma's students had participated in a Kavisammelanam in Kerela and wanted to present a song written by the renowned Kerela poet, Thirunalloor Karunaakaran. Thirunalloor Karunaakaran was a teacher by profession and was also an activist, orator, multilingual scholar and an intellectual with leftist leanings.

This is the context and the reason for this week's feature presentation, 'Oru mozhi uriyadi', written by Thirunalloor Karunaakaran and set to tune in Vijayanagari by Uma. We would like to dedicate this song to all our rasikas from Kerala. We thoroughly enjoyed in this maiden effort to sing a Malayalam song. Please pardon any pronunciation errors!

This is a romantic song which expresses someone's eagerness while awaiting her beloved but also could be interpreted as the poet's expectation and hope that his works will one day be appreciated. Hope you will enjoy listening.

In the meantime, we hope you have gone through the results of our Special Quiz - 300.
Looking forward to your quiz answers for this week!

Have a great week ahead!

Raga Surabhi Team.
